Changing Venues

Changing venues for your theatre company is a lot like moving. After mounting five shows at the Briggs Opera House, this year, for this production, we’ve packed up and settled into a new home: the Eclipse Grange Theater on Thetford Hill, home to the Parish Players.
Many of our actors and crew already know the space well, having performed there or worked backstage on other productions. But for We the People Theatre, this is a first.
If you’ve been lucky enough to avoid moving recently, you may have forgotten the particular brand of chaos it brings. Where does everything go? Where are the light fixtures? Are there enough closets? Will the dressing room hold all of our actors? Where do the costumes and props live? And perhaps most urgently—where do we put the band? The Parish Players don’t often mount musicals, so we’re all figuring this out together.
And yet, there’s something that feels just right.
What we love about this space is how beautifully it matches the spirit of this show. The Spitfire Grill is set in a small rural town not unlike Thetford. And the Eclipse Grange Theater—home to the Parish Players since 1966—carries a well-worn, lived-in charm that mirrors the world of the play.
Both the story and the space are about bringing people together, about connection and community. Which makes this new home feel less like a move—and more like a perfect fit.
